The CAT training focuses on learning about the agile aspects of testing. We believe that this cannot be simply taught but must be experienced and practiced. This is why the training consists of five days in class that represent the daily work of individual team members in agile projects - practical focus with plenty of activities and interaction.

Students will gain an understanding of the testing role within an agile project and be able to effectively apply practical skills associated with that role.

Agile Projects strongly rely on the individuals – their knowledge, their ability to interact constantly with the team as well as the discipline to produce working software in agreed time frames. Therefore, the examination to become a Certified Agile Tester is separated into three different parts:
- A soft skills assessment on capacity for teamwork
- An open questions exam to demonstrate profound theoretical knowledge
- A practical section where the examinee’s testing skills are put to the test.

Whereas the soft skills will be assessed throughout the five training days, the written as well as the practical examination will take place on the last of the five days.

Students that have passed the training will contribute to agile projects by understanding the principles behind the agile approach to software development and appreciating the challenges and difficulties associated with the non-testing activities performed in an agile team.

At the end of the course, successful students will be able to:
• Understand the principles behind the agile approach to software development
• Differentiate between the testing role in agile projects compared with the role of testers in non-agile projects
• Positively contribute as an agile team member focused on testing
• Appreciate the challenges and difficulties associated with the non-testing activities performed in an agile team
• Demonstrate a range of soft skills required by agile team members

Completing this course, will provide the information needed to sit the CAT assessments and exam.

The CAT training requires 5 days. The exam and certification take place on the last day of the course.

KURSBEDINGUNGEN

Anmeldung und Leistung
Die An- und Abmeldung eines Kursteilnehmers muss schriftlich erfolgen. Der in der Kursbeschreibung angegebene Betrag ist die zu entrichtende Teilnehmergebühr (exkl. MwSt.). In der Teilnahmegebühr inbegriffen sind alle während des Kurses abgegebenen Lehrmittel und Unterlagen sowie die auf die Dauer des Kurses beschränkte Nutzung der Software. Ebenso erhält der Teilnehmer ein Mittagessen sowie Erfrischungsgetränke und Kaffee während des Kurses. Alle Kursgebühren verstehen sich ohne Mehrwertsteuer. Etwaige Prüfungsgebühren trägt der Teilnehmer.
Abmeldung
Bis 2 Wochen vor Kursbeginn wird für eine Abmeldung keine Gebühr erhoben. Danach wird eine Gebühr von 50% des Teilnehmerbetrages fällig. Bei Abmeldungen ab 2 Tage vor Kursbeginn ist die volle Kursgebühr zu bezahlen.
Fälligkeit
Die Gebühr wird spätestens 2 Tage vor Kursbeginn fällig.
Durchführung
Die Kursleitung behält sich vor, aus organisatorischen Gründen einzelne Kurse abzusagen. In diesem Fall werden bereits bezahlte Kursgelder voll erstattet. Die Kursleitung behält sich ebenso vor, Kursteilnehmer mit ungenügendem Leistungsniveau aus dem Kurs auszuschließen. In diesem Fall werden die Kursgelder, abzüglich eines administrativen Kostenanteils, für die noch nicht besuchten Kursteile erstattet. Vorbehalten bleiben auch Änderungen des Terminplans, des Kursortes, des Trainers sowie geringfügige Änderungen des Kursstoffes.
Haftung
Die SEQIS GmbH und die Díaz & Hilterscheid GmbH lehnen jegliche Haftung für sich oder für die von ihnen angestellten Personen ab, außer bei Vorsatz oder grober Fahrlässigkeit. Ausgeschlossen sind insbesondere auch Schäden, die durch Computer-Viren entstehen sollten.
Urheber- und andere Rechte
Sämtliche Rechte für die im Kurs abgegebenen oder benutzten Unterlagen, Programme etc. verbleiben vollständig bei der Kursleitung. Der Kursteilnehmer ist lediglich im Rahmen und für die Dauer des Kurses zur Nutzung der ihm überlassenen Software berechtigt. Er verpflichtet sich, keine Software zu kopieren und aus den Kursräumlichkeiten mitzunehmen.

Prüfung
Die Prüfung zum Certified Agile Tester dauert für den praktischen Teil am Vormittag 120 Minuten (Zeitverlängerung für Nicht-Muttersprachler 30 Minuten). Der schriftliche Teil dauert 150 Minuten (Zeitverlängerung für Nicht-Muttersprachler 30 Minuten). Für die Prüfung zum Kurs CAT Certified Agile Tester fallen Euro 400,- zzgl.
